    Came to check out some live music and discovered a hidden gem! Greek House is our go-to when we want gyros, but now we won't have to make such a long drive for exceptional gyros. The owner explained that instead of the traditional shaved meat, their meat are cut into cubes to retain the moisture & prevent the dryness. Not going to lie, I was skeptical! We ordered a variety of dishes to try ....the gyro plate, sultan plate, side order of hummus & pita, and gyro quesadilla for the kids. The meat was tender and bursting with flavor! The salad refreshing! The hummus creamy! The green sauce, spicy, provided that extra kick to the meat &.rice. Not sure if the white sauce is yogurt, but I could eat that by itself, as well! The young owner was friendly and helpful and such a hard worker .... making his round to sure everyone was taken care of. Wishing the business great success, because, for one, my own selfish reason, no need to drive to Norman for good gyros any longer!

    Excellent gyro. For $0.99 I upgraded to the optional hummus instead of fries. It came with fresh hot pita slices. The gyro was loaded with meat and fresh veggies. Best gyro I've had in years. Definitely worth the trip.

    I had the Philly Ali...basically a Philly cheesesteak with gyro meat. It was really good, the gyro meat went inexpertly well with the bell peppers,onions and cheese. Fries were kind of dry, I'd recommend spending the extra dollar to sub tabouli, which was really fresh!

    Stopped in for lunch on a weekend day - there were a few folks there but it wasn't too busy. The guy working the cash register was really nice and the menu has a fresh, young vibe to it. I got the Big Bird salad and it was delicious. It has hummus, tabouli, veggies and chicken on it. Not too big in size, but really hearty and the hummus and tabouli were really great. My husband got the gyro quesadilla. I experienced serious order envy...do you ever get that? When you wish you'd order what someone else had? Had a bite and it was DEElicious. I'm not crazy about the décor, but since that has absolutely nothing to do with how food tastes I'll go ahead and leave that alone Definitely give Ali's a try - I hope it makes it in this spot! It's a nice addition to the area.

    I think this place may be overhyped on the food, but the service is phenomenal. Formally known as a jeep on a stick, this place finally took down that jeep. A landmark at one time? When you enter Gyros by Ali into the Waze app, it wants to take you to Tulsa. Ironically enough, this is an extension of the Tulsa branch (which opened up a year and a half ago). I had the Philly Ali with is a gyro on a hoagie, Philly cheesesteak style.... hence the name? I cannot say that this was the best gyro I have had but it was not as greasy as the usual gyros... maybe that is my problem. .. I like my gyros greasy? It was missing a little flavor. The people around me got the falafel sandwich which was a little dry, the big bird wasn't as tasty as the Sultana as far as the meat was concerned. I heard the Tabouli was delicious though. The owners did come talk to us and provided free mint tea that one described as crisp. They also showed is the hookah bar that is quite large out back. It is still a work in progress but almost complete.

    I've been here about four times, and each time I've been thoroughly impressed. I only order their chicken, but the meat is always tender, juicy, and of high quality. I also order their salads and tabouli. Both have never disappointed in terms of freshness or quality of ingredients. My friends have praised the gyros as well. Service is amazing, usually really quick no matter the time of day. Love that they're open until 11 or 12, great place to pick up a quick, filling meal.

    Great place to grab a gyro for lunch or have a hookah with friends on a nice night on the patio. The gyrodilla, or whatever they call the gyro quesadilla, is surprisingly good. The only thing that is lacking is the fries are consistently over-salted.

    I pray to the sweet baby Jesus every night that this place doesn't see the same fate as the previous establishments at this location. People of OKC...give this place a try!!! I have eaten here once a week since they've opened and plan to continue doing so. The people here are so friendly and get your food out pretty quick. That said, this would be a great lunch spot if you only have a limited time for your lunch break. You can get a gyro, generous helping of fries, and a drink for a little over $8. The gyro here is far and away the best I have had in the city. I have also been here twice on the weekends to take advantage of their cozy back patio to smoke hookah. The staff is super attentive in making sure you're comfortable and taken care of during your time there. They have two large TV's in the patio area and have let us connect our phones to their outside speakers via Bluetooth so that we can play our own music. Needless to say, I recommend everyone to give this place a shot. I have high hopes that Ali is here to stay!

    I read some reviews on here and thought it sounded pretty good. Now I don't know if Yeros are slightly different Arabic style or the fact that I live in the Salt Lake City area with its large Greek population and top notch Greek food but I didn't really care for this food. It was ok and I would have rated it slightly higher except the after taste was bad and lasted for a couple of hours.

    Stopped in for a quick Togo order...Pulled into the back parking lot and noticed that there is a new add on to the building it is a covered seating area. I'm happy to see the new owners have cleaned up and improved this establishment. As I get to the counter I had a few questions. I believe that it was the owner that came to answer my questions that I happen to ask whenever I go to a Mediterranean restaurant... First question is always the same for any restaurant. What is your specialty on the menu? The owner seemed friendly and helpful and told me that the gyro is excellent, to this I ask is the gyro meat halal and is it a mix of lamb and beef? To this he told me that currently the only meat on the menu that is halal is the chicken which is understandable considering that cost involved in serving a halal menu and that the gyro meat is indeed a mix of lamb and beef. My next question, is your rice basmati? Which it is lol My food was made quickly and accurately. Now why did I give it three stars. I found only a couple of flaws that I guess you could say I was being picky and I was for the first time visiting I noticed the tea is from a bag in box Lipton....for any of my tea drinking friends you and I know this is not tea and for this being a Mediterranean restaurant I was expecting real tea and that was a huge disappointment. The basmati rice was excellent a little bit spicy but in a flavorful way. The gyro as he said was also wonderful moist with a slight crisp to the outside and the chicken was moist all were cut into bit sized pieces and atop the basmati once again there was a slight spice to the basmati but by no means a mouth scorcher just lots of flavor. My other disappointment was that the tzatziki sauce it was thick and lacked cucumber mint dill? With as much flavor as everything else had I was a expecting a flavorful cooling tzatziki to finish it off. The meal also comes with a side of tabouli which normally I am not a fan of but the tabouli was wonderful it looked like it had to much parsley in it but it was a good texture and a great taste. All in all I would definitely return to try other things on the menu I just hope they get real tea by the time I go back and improve the tzatziki.

    This is a great new place for Mediterranean cuisine with a fun atmosphere. Finally! Classic or even more adventurous takes on the cuisine (a fantastic gyro quesadilla for example). Parking is in the back but the flavor is front and center. Definitely coming back here.

    Great food! We got the Sultan platter, it was so much food I have enough for a second meal. Good quality ingredients and the perfect amount of spice. They were friendly. I love how they've opened up the front making it easier to get in. In previous restaurants in this location it's been confusing and weird. Very excited to see them succeed, please go try it!

    This is by far, is one of the best gyro joints in Oklahoma. I love gyros and the standard for a typical gyro is pretty much the same throughout multiple places. I can say that this place far exceeds that by providing meat that is chunky, plentiful, and juicy. Their pita is not soggy and maintains this crispness that is unfathomable to me. What gets me is that my food is hot! Even half way through my gyro, the meat inside is still as fresh as the first bite. For about $10 and under, you get a pretty decent amount of food. I got the Prince Ali combo: classic gyro with $1 to sub hummus for fries and a drink. My only complaint is that meat to sandwich ratio is a little more meat than I would like. It's not really bad thing, I just prefer more veggies and sauce. Maybe I'll opt for the salad instead. The atmosphere of the restaurant is okay. Not quite the experience, but the food is phenomenal.

    The menu was very different. They offered a Philly gyro that was so good! There was also a gyro quesadilla that sounded interesting but we didn't try it. My gryo was loaded and the meat was so tender and flavorful. someone also purchased the Tabouli dinner that was amazing. I think my favorite was the falafel sandwich. The French Fries were great too!! They are also going to start Huka and built a great place in the back!

    Gyros by Ali is the 3rd restaurant I've seen in this building. The jeep on a stick never intrigued me enough to stop in and check out what it was previously but gyros definitely caught my interest! Went here for dinner the other day. Don't be deterred by the fact the parking lot and entrance is located behind the joint. Just follow the lit up archway leading you into the building. On your way in notice the outdoor hookah bar, which I suspect will be pretty awesome during the summer! Throw some heating lamps in there and you might just find me in there during the winter too! Once inside, the warm colors and ample seating are inviting; the Thunder game playing on a big screen TV helped as well. On to the food! We ordered The Sultan platter, The Ultimate Salad, a side of Falafels and Fries. For starters their gyro meat is different. Not your typical shaved gyro meat from the hunk of lamb on a stick. No this meat is in individual cut pieces, tender, almost fluffy like and oh so juicy deliciousness. Their chicken was also tender, juicy, and flavorful. The tabbouleh was yummy! Freshly herbtastic and zesty. Our salad had a nice bottom layer of hummus that complemented the dish nicely. I'm pretty picky about my tzatziki sauce. Here it was thick and yummy. None of this runny sauce I've experienced at nearby places. The falafels; I might be so bold as to say the best I've ever had. Falafels often times fall victim to being overcooked on the outside and dry on the inside. Not here. They're a nice thickness, perfectly cooked and crunchy on the outside with a nice fluffy, not dried out inside. We appreciated this! The only area of improvement for me would be the fries. I like my fries extra crispy so perhaps next time I will request this. The staff was super helpful, attentive (eventhough this isn't a waiter type place) and kind. We enjoyed their suggestions and their accommodations. I would def recommend the food! I will most def be back for the food and to test out the hooka bar!

    Wanted Greek/Mediterranean food tonight, but everywhere else was really busy. Ali's did not disappoint. I ate the Sultan Platter and was really impressed by every bit of it. The portions were very reasonable for the price. I would recommend this place to my friends, and I plan on returning.

    What a wonderful place close to everything! It has an awesome patio in the front that will be a nice spot to be when the weather is nice. The hooks bar in back is a very nice touch. Always a nice staff and very clean facility. Try it out! Great OKC spot!

    This place has amazing food!! It's so fresh and savory. I've only been there for lunch but want to check out the hookah bar soon. It's never very busy which blows my mind! It is so damn good. Try it ASAP...and then repeat.

    I've lived less than a block behind the building that this restaurant now resides in for over a year and in the area for even longer. The awkward parking and inconvenient access to this building has always been a hurdle for past businesses who've attempted to call it home in months and years past. For a restaurant to not only survive, but thrive in this part of OKC, which is bursting at the seams with trendy new hot spots and time-tested favorites, it's going to need to really shine in the cuisine department. I was initially excited to see the new restaurant was going to be Mediterranean, and living less than a block from it made me eternally hopeful that the quality would be worthy of many future walks. This is a humble place with modest decor inside, but don't let that deter you. You didn't come for the ambiance, you came for the food! For my first visit I decided to keep it simple and order the Prince Ali Platter, which consisted of saffron rice, gyro meat and tabouleh. It seemed like a pretty logical place to start. I was delighted to see that the meat wasn't the dry peelings from a giant meat cone, but tender, juicy bite sized pieces of deliciously flavored meat atop a bountiful bed of saffron seasoned rice. The tabouleh was going to be tough to sell me on, because it's something my family has made for as long as I can remember (the boyfriend calls me the tabouleh snob.) I'm pretty set in my ways about everything from the amount of garlic in or acidity of the dressing to the parsley-to-bulgar ratio. It certainly looked different from mine, but that's to be expected anywhere... but the taste - it was great! Superbly surprised to find a suitable substitute for my own! My boyfriend ordered the same platter but substituted the tabouleh for hummus and pita. Hummus is one of those things that are easily personalized by way of process and seasoning. I was pleased that they took creative license without slaughtering the dish. It's hummus, but with a zesty, smoky edge that makes it unique yet still traditional. I haven't even gone into describing the outside (yet enclosed) hookah patio yet, but then again I didn't get to use it because of the cold weather. Put plainly, this place is awesome. I can't wait to see it grow, but for now I'll enjoy it as my little secret.

    The food here is terrific. I had a falafel. The pita actually tastes like fluffy fresh pita not like the usual dry glued together excuse for pita served around here so often. And the falafel's texture was just as it should be- crunchy on the outside and smooth on the inside with just enough red pepper in it to give it a some zing. Yum. Plus it was huge. These aren't little delicate balls of chickpeas. I ended up bringing half home. My lunch mate had the gyros (real meat, juicy and delicious on real pita). We split an order of hummus. I wish it had a little more lemon (my personal bias), but it had plenty of tahini and paprika. I liked it better than Mediterranean Deli, Zorbas or Nunu's and plan to go back to try other menu options. Don't expect a spiffy decor. It doesn't have one. But with food this good, who cares?

    This is one of my favorite new spots in Oklahoma City. The food is all authentic Mediterranean and the hookah is top notch. The owner and all of the staff are extremely friendly and provide excellent customer service. I live in Norman and would definitely make a trip to the city just to eat here.

    My inability to decide on a place to eat out at is often a huge source of frustration for my wife. It often starts with her telling me to find a new place to try round about lunch time and ends with me looking at a dozen reviews on Yelp and then suggesting the same places we have already been to.The last such situation had me frantically checking Yelp for a Mediterranean place and based on the positive reviews, I zeroed in on 'Gyros by Ali' . A 10 minute drive later, we arrived at a quaint place that looked like it could easily have been somebody's house. There was just another couple there besides us and the lack of a crowd around lunch time raised some serious doubts in my mind. The sole waitress at the place then took our orders. I ordered the Sultan platter and my wife went with the Big Bird sandwich. The orders arrived fairly quickly and for the next 15 minutes or so following that, there was almost complete silence as we devoured everything in front of us. My wife loved her sandwich. It was almost like a Shawarma and there was a lot of chicken in it. The Tzatziki sauce was yummy. In her opinion ,this was better than the similar Chicken Kabob Sandwich that Cous Cous Cafe has. On my side, the Sultan platter was quite possibly among the best rice based dishes I have had in recent times in OKC. The complaint I generally have with Mediterranean places that I have been to is that the rice is pretty bland and just does not go well with the seasoned meat they bring because there really isn't a sauce to tie them together.This wasn't the case here because the rice was well seasoned and flavorful and went along very well with the gyro meat + chicken in this dish. The meat was delicious and the chicken, though slightly dry, was excellently seasoned too. All of this combined with the Tzatziki sauce, Pita bread and the Tabouli made for a very, very satisfying meal. I must admit that I was exceptionally hungry when I went to this place so I am not sure if that may have had any bearing on the elevated level of happiness that I experienced with the food here. It may take another visit to confirm if the place is consistent but at this point, I highly recommend it !

    Yeah this place is overrated. Slow, so slow food took forever, the place had like two customers. Falafel was plain, no hummus, a little onion, small piece of tomato, some lettuce, tasteless tzaki or whatever sauce. Dirty tables, lame music, ordered to eat in, food showed up to go. Fries were OK. Pita was boring and of the industrial version.

    When you think about it, eating any meat is pretty decadent. What is meat, really, but saying, "My hunger is more important than that thing being alive"? Which is no knock against meat. I love meat. I eat a lot of meat. But I also try to understand exactly what that entails. Perhaps that is why I was so drawn to The Sultan at Gyros by Ali, 3214 N. Classen Blvd. At least a couple animals made the ultimate sacrifice for this sandwich: gyro meat and seasoned chicken wrapped up in a pita and slathered with a thick, flavorful tzatziki sauce that might just be the best anywhere. The Sultan ($8.49 for a combo with fries and a drink) is my favorite sandwich at Gyros by Ali, and not just because I'm a morbid weirdo. This restaurant does a tremendous job cooking its meats. Believe it or not, there is an art to cooking a gyro cone. The thickness of the cuts makes a difference in the moistness of the sandwich. If it is shaved too early, the meat is pale and limp. Shave it too late and it's crispy and near burnt (which isn't a bad snack, honestly). Gyros by Ali packs its sandwiches with meat that is deep brown and glistening with all the tasty fat that makes gyros so irresistible. But don't give short shrift to the chicken. It's seasoned then moved around a sizzling griddle to unlock flavor while retaining tenderness. Wrapped in a pita with lettuce, tomato, onion and tzatziki, the end product is The Sultan, a sandwich so tasty you will scarcely want to take a breath while plowing through it. If you're not keen on mixing delicious gyro meat with chicken, the Prince Ali ($5.99 sandwich, $7.99 combo) is Ali's traditional gyro. You should also try the Big Bird ($5.99 sandwich, $7.99 combo), which replaces gyro meat with seasoned chicken. The quality of the french fries varies from day to day. They're never amazing and are sometimes a bit salty, but they're usually just fine. The hummus, which you can substitute for fries in a combo meal for 99 cents, is better. Not quite a gyro is the Philly Ali ($8.49 combo), which kicks the pita to the curb and uses a 6-inch hoagie bun. Here, the meat is married with grilled onions and bell peppers with cheese melted into every crevice. One thing I recommend: Ask for tzatziki sauce on the side. The cheese is wonderful, but there's nothing that goes so well with gyro meat as tzatziki sauce. For those who are less inclined toward sandwiches, Gyros by Ali does have a few platters. Mostly, the meat that would normally go in a sandwich instead goes on a plate with rice. The gyro plate ($8.99) puts that glorious meat on top of a Greek salad with some pita slices. But are you really coming here for a salad? When I walk into Gyros by Ali, I want expertly seasoned meat haphazardly folded into a pita with a tangy cucumber yogurt sauce, wrapped in foil, aimed at my face. Because this food might be decadent, but nobody said that was a bad thing.

    My son and I have an issue. We love to eat, and prefer to have something different every day. We are happiest when finding a new spin on an old favorite, and while we are easy to please we are also somewhat spoiled. We had not planned our dinner well last night, and were stuck wandering the streets, looking for something that would inspire us. Just as we'd decided to give up and eat fast food I noticed a new sign along the roadside. Gyros sounded like a perfect choice. Fast, but (hopefully) good, and familiar enough to deal with our hangry selves. The new spin on an old favorite made us very happy with Gyros By Ali. By serving the gyro meat as bite sized chunks instead of long thin strips, the meat is somehow more tender than normal, and the flavor is enhanced. The meats were piled high on my son's sandwich and on my Sultan's platter, and try as we might we were unable to find an overcooked piece. What joy! We also ordered a side of hummus and pita, which arrived hot and oily, and which we had a difficult time sharing. In the end, though, my son was happy that I'd helped him control his urge to eat the entire dish, as his fries were delicious. The portion of fries was huge, much larger than his sandwich. He was sorry to have to leave half of the order behind. The only thing that I did not love was my rice. It had very little flavor, and was not an even texture. It seemed that two separate portions had been combined in one large container, and then served. I do not see this as a huge issue, though, as I will simply substitute fries for the rice next time. I'll also order a platter with just the gyro meat, as the chicken on my Sultan platter was good, but not quite as good as the gyro. Though we have only been here once, I know that Gyros By Ali will be a regular stop for us. The location is convenient for our needs, the food is very good, and the atmosphere is friendly and bright. I'm happy to have stumbled into this place, and look forward to a return trip.

    Gyros by Ali was right down the middle for me when it comes to these types of eateries. I am pretty picky when it comes to Greek salads, and they just weren't doing it for me here. Their tzatziki sauce was different than I was used to as well. It wasn't bad though, just different. I was surprised how they cut their gyro meat. It was in cubes instead of slices like I assumed it would be. I don't see myself returning here, especially because there is another really good gyro place in the area that I prefer. I'm glad a gave it a try though because I'd been curious about it since it opened. I'm also curious to see if it'll break the curse of whatever that building has. There have been more businesses in and out of there more than most. We'll see!

I also order their salads and tabouli. Both have never disappointed in terms of freshness or quality of ingredients. My friends have praised the gyros as well. Service is amazing, usually really quick no matter the time of day. Love that they're open until 11 or 12, great place to pick up a quick, filling meal.

    Great food! We got the Sultan platter, it was so much food I have enough for a second meal. Good quality ingredients and the perfect amount of spice. They were friendly. I love how they've opened up the front making it easier to get in. In previous restaurants in this location it's been confusing and weird. Very excited to see them succeed, please go try it!

    Great place to grab a gyro for lunch or have a hookah with friends on a nice night on the patio. The gyrodilla, or whatever they call the gyro quesadilla, is surprisingly good. The only thing that is lacking is the fries are consistently over-salted.

    I pray to the sweet baby Jesus every night that this place doesn't see the same fate as the previous establishments at this location. People of OKC...give this place a try!!! I have eaten here once a week since they've opened and plan to continue doing so. The people here are so friendly and get your food out pretty quick. That said, this would be a great lunch spot if you only have a limited time for your lunch break. You can get a gyro, generous helping of fries, and a drink for a little over $8. The gyro here is far and away the best I have had in the city. I have also been here twice on the weekends to take advantage of their cozy back patio to smoke hookah. The staff is super attentive in making sure you're comfortable and taken care of during your time there. They have two large TV's in the patio area and have let us connect our phones to their outside speakers via Bluetooth so that we can play our own music. Needless to say, I recommend everyone to give this place a shot. I have high hopes that Ali is here to stay!

    My inability to decide on a place to eat out at is often a huge source of frustration for my wife. It often starts with her telling me to find a new place to try round about lunch time and ends with me looking at a dozen reviews on Yelp and then suggesting the same places we have already been to.The last such situation had me frantically checking Yelp for a Mediterranean place and based on the positive reviews, I zeroed in on 'Gyros by Ali' . A 10 minute drive later, we arrived at a quaint place that looked like it could easily have been somebody's house. There was just another couple there besides us and the lack of a crowd around lunch time raised some serious doubts in my mind. The sole waitress at the place then took our orders. I ordered the Sultan platter and my wife went with the Big Bird sandwich. The orders arrived fairly quickly and for the next 15 minutes or so following that, there was almost complete silence as we devoured everything in front of us. My wife loved her sandwich. It was almost like a Shawarma and there was a lot of chicken in it. The Tzatziki sauce was yummy. In her opinion ,this was better than the similar Chicken Kabob Sandwich that Cous Cous Cafe has. On my side, the Sultan platter was quite possibly among the best rice based dishes I have had in recent times in OKC. The complaint I generally have with Mediterranean places that I have been to is that the rice is pretty bland and just does not go well with the seasoned meat they bring because there really isn't a sauce to tie them together.This wasn't the case here because the rice was well seasoned and flavorful and went along very well with the gyro meat + chicken in this dish. The meat was delicious and the chicken, though slightly dry, was excellently seasoned too. All of this combined with the Tzatziki sauce, Pita bread and the Tabouli made for a very, very satisfying meal. I must admit that I was exceptionally hungry when I went to this place so I am not sure if that may have had any bearing on the elevated level of happiness that I experienced with the food here. It may take another visit to confirm if the place is consistent but at this point, I highly recommend it !

    Yeah this place is overrated. Slow, so slow food took forever, the place had like two customers. Falafel was plain, no hummus, a little onion, small piece of tomato, some lettuce, tasteless tzaki or whatever sauce. Dirty tables, lame music, ordered to eat in, food showed up to go. Fries were OK. Pita was boring and of the industrial version.

    When you think about it, eating any meat is pretty decadent. What is meat, really, but saying, "My hunger is more important than that thing being alive"? Which is no knock against meat. I love meat. I eat a lot of meat. But I also try to understand exactly what that entails. Perhaps that is why I was so drawn to The Sultan at Gyros by Ali, 3214 N. Classen Blvd. At least a couple animals made the ultimate sacrifice for this sandwich: gyro meat and seasoned chicken wrapped up in a pita and slathered with a thick, flavorful tzatziki sauce that might just be the best anywhere. The Sultan ($8.49 for a combo with fries and a drink) is my favorite sandwich at Gyros by Ali, and not just because I'm a morbid weirdo. This restaurant does a tremendous job cooking its meats. Believe it or not, there is an art to cooking a gyro cone. The thickness of the cuts makes a difference in the moistness of the sandwich. If it is shaved too early, the meat is pale and limp. Shave it too late and it's crispy and near burnt (which isn't a bad snack, honestly). Gyros by Ali packs its sandwiches with meat that is deep brown and glistening with all the tasty fat that makes gyros so irresistible. But don't give short shrift to the chicken. It's seasoned then moved around a sizzling griddle to unlock flavor while retaining tenderness. Wrapped in a pita with lettuce, tomato, onion and tzatziki, the end product is The Sultan, a sandwich so tasty you will scarcely want to take a breath while plowing through it. If you're not keen on mixing delicious gyro meat with chicken, the Prince Ali ($5.99 sandwich, $7.99 combo) is Ali's traditional gyro. You should also try the Big Bird ($5.99 sandwich, $7.99 combo), which replaces gyro meat with seasoned chicken. The quality of the french fries varies from day to day. They're never amazing and are sometimes a bit salty, but they're usually just fine. The hummus, which you can substitute for fries in a combo meal for 99 cents, is better. Not quite a gyro is the Philly Ali ($8.49 combo), which kicks the pita to the curb and uses a 6-inch hoagie bun. Here, the meat is married with grilled onions and bell peppers with cheese melted into every crevice. One thing I recommend: Ask for tzatziki sauce on the side. The cheese is wonderful, but there's nothing that goes so well with gyro meat as tzatziki sauce. For those who are less inclined toward sandwiches, Gyros by Ali does have a few platters. Mostly, the meat that would normally go in a sandwich instead goes on a plate with rice. The gyro plate ($8.99) puts that glorious meat on top of a Greek salad with some pita slices. But are you really coming here for a salad? When I walk into Gyros by Ali, I want expertly seasoned meat haphazardly folded into a pita with a tangy cucumber yogurt sauce, wrapped in foil, aimed at my face. Because this food might be decadent, but nobody said that was a bad thing.

    I read some reviews on here and thought it sounded pretty good. Now I don't know if Yeros are slightly different Arabic style or the fact that I live in the Salt Lake City area with its large Greek population and top notch Greek food but I didn't really care for this food. It was ok and I would have rated it slightly higher except the after taste was bad and lasted for a couple of hours.

    Excellent gyro. For $0.99 I upgraded to the optional hummus instead of fries. It came with fresh hot pita slices. The gyro was loaded with meat and fresh veggies. Best gyro I've had in years. Definitely worth the trip.

    My son and I have an issue. We love to eat, and prefer to have something different every day. We are happiest when finding a new spin on an old favorite, and while we are easy to please we are also somewhat spoiled. We had not planned our dinner well last night, and were stuck wandering the streets, looking for something that would inspire us. Just as we'd decided to give up and eat fast food I noticed a new sign along the roadside. Gyros sounded like a perfect choice. Fast, but (hopefully) good, and familiar enough to deal with our hangry selves. The new spin on an old favorite made us very happy with Gyros By Ali. By serving the gyro meat as bite sized chunks instead of long thin strips, the meat is somehow more tender than normal, and the flavor is enhanced. The meats were piled high on my son's sandwich and on my Sultan's platter, and try as we might we were unable to find an overcooked piece. What joy! We also ordered a side of hummus and pita, which arrived hot and oily, and which we had a difficult time sharing. In the end, though, my son was happy that I'd helped him control his urge to eat the entire dish, as his fries were delicious. The portion of fries was huge, much larger than his sandwich. He was sorry to have to leave half of the order behind. The only thing that I did not love was my rice. It had very little flavor, and was not an even texture. It seemed that two separate portions had been combined in one large container, and then served. I do not see this as a huge issue, though, as I will simply substitute fries for the rice next time. I'll also order a platter with just the gyro meat, as the chicken on my Sultan platter was good, but not quite as good as the gyro. Though we have only been here once, I know that Gyros By Ali will be a regular stop for us. The location is convenient for our needs, the food is very good, and the atmosphere is friendly and bright. I'm happy to have stumbled into this place, and look forward to a return trip.

    Gyros by Ali was right down the middle for me when it comes to these types of eateries. I am pretty picky when it comes to Greek salads, and they just weren't doing it for me here. Their tzatziki sauce was different than I was used to as well. It wasn't bad though, just different. I was surprised how they cut their gyro meat. It was in cubes instead of slices like I assumed it would be. I don't see myself returning here, especially because there is another really good gyro place in the area that I prefer. I'm glad a gave it a try though because I'd been curious about it since it opened. I'm also curious to see if it'll break the curse of whatever that building has. There have been more businesses in and out of there more than most. We'll see!

    Stopped in for a quick Togo order...Pulled into the back parking lot and noticed that there is a new add on to the building it is a covered seating area. I'm happy to see the new owners have cleaned up and improved this establishment. As I get to the counter I had a few questions. I believe that it was the owner that came to answer my questions that I happen to ask whenever I go to a Mediterranean restaurant... First question is always the same for any restaurant. What is your specialty on the menu? The owner seemed friendly and helpful and told me that the gyro is excellent, to this I ask is the gyro meat halal and is it a mix of lamb and beef? To this he told me that currently the only meat on the menu that is halal is the chicken which is understandable considering that cost involved in serving a halal menu and that the gyro meat is indeed a mix of lamb and beef. My next question, is your rice basmati? Which it is lol My food was made quickly and accurately. Now why did I give it three stars. I found only a couple of flaws that I guess you could say I was being picky and I was for the first time visiting I noticed the tea is from a bag in box Lipton....for any of my tea drinking friends you and I know this is not tea and for this being a Mediterranean restaurant I was expecting real tea and that was a huge disappointment. The basmati rice was excellent a little bit spicy but in a flavorful way. The gyro as he said was also wonderful moist with a slight crisp to the outside and the chicken was moist all were cut into bit sized pieces and atop the basmati once again there was a slight spice to the basmati but by no means a mouth scorcher just lots of flavor. My other disappointment was that the tzatziki sauce it was thick and lacked cucumber mint dill? With as much flavor as everything else had I was a expecting a flavorful cooling tzatziki to finish it off. The meal also comes with a side of tabouli which normally I am not a fan of but the tabouli was wonderful it looked like it had to much parsley in it but it was a good texture and a great taste. All in all I would definitely return to try other things on the menu I just hope they get real tea by the time I go back and improve the tzatziki.

    Came to check out some live music and discovered a hidden gem! Greek House is our go-to when we want gyros, but now we won't have to make such a long drive for exceptional gyros. The owner explained that instead of the traditional shaved meat, their meat are cut into cubes to retain the moisture & prevent the dryness. Not going to lie, I was skeptical! We ordered a variety of dishes to try ....the gyro plate, sultan plate, side order of hummus & pita, and gyro quesadilla for the kids. The meat was tender and bursting with flavor! The salad refreshing! The hummus creamy! The green sauce, spicy, provided that extra kick to the meat &.rice. Not sure if the white sauce is yogurt, but I could eat that by itself, as well! The young owner was friendly and helpful and such a hard worker .... making his round to sure everyone was taken care of. Wishing the business great success, because, for one, my own selfish reason, no need to drive to Norman for good gyros any longer!

    This is by far, is one of the best gyro joints in Oklahoma. I love gyros and the standard for a typical gyro is pretty much the same throughout multiple places. I can say that this place far exceeds that by providing meat that is chunky, plentiful, and juicy. Their pita is not soggy and maintains this crispness that is unfathomable to me. What gets me is that my food is hot! Even half way through my gyro, the meat inside is still as fresh as the first bite. For about $10 and under, you get a pretty decent amount of food. I got the Prince Ali combo: classic gyro with $1 to sub hummus for fries and a drink. My only complaint is that meat to sandwich ratio is a little more meat than I would like. It's not really bad thing, I just prefer more veggies and sauce. Maybe I'll opt for the salad instead. The atmosphere of the restaurant is okay. Not quite the experience, but the food is phenomenal.

    Gyros by Ali is the 3rd restaurant I've seen in this building. The jeep on a stick never intrigued me enough to stop in and check out what it was previously but gyros definitely caught my interest! Went here for dinner the other day. Don't be deterred by the fact the parking lot and entrance is located behind the joint. Just follow the lit up archway leading you into the building. On your way in notice the outdoor hookah bar, which I suspect will be pretty awesome during the summer! Throw some heating lamps in there and you might just find me in there during the winter too! Once inside, the warm colors and ample seating are inviting; the Thunder game playing on a big screen TV helped as well. On to the food! We ordered The Sultan platter, The Ultimate Salad, a side of Falafels and Fries. For starters their gyro meat is different. Not your typical shaved gyro meat from the hunk of lamb on a stick. No this meat is in individual cut pieces, tender, almost fluffy like and oh so juicy deliciousness. Their chicken was also tender, juicy, and flavorful. The tabbouleh was yummy! Freshly herbtastic and zesty. Our salad had a nice bottom layer of hummus that complemented the dish nicely. I'm pretty picky about my tzatziki sauce. Here it was thick and yummy. None of this runny sauce I've experienced at nearby places. The falafels; I might be so bold as to say the best I've ever had. Falafels often times fall victim to being overcooked on the outside and dry on the inside. Not here. They're a nice thickness, perfectly cooked and crunchy on the outside with a nice fluffy, not dried out inside. We appreciated this! The only area of improvement for me would be the fries. I like my fries extra crispy so perhaps next time I will request this. The staff was super helpful, attentive (eventhough this isn't a waiter type place) and kind. We enjoyed their suggestions and their accommodations. I would def recommend the food! I will most def be back for the food and to test out the hooka bar!

    Wanted Greek/Mediterranean food tonight, but everywhere else was really busy. Ali's did not disappoint. I ate the Sultan Platter and was really impressed by every bit of it. The portions were very reasonable for the price. I would recommend this place to my friends, and I plan on returning.

    I've lived less than a block behind the building that this restaurant now resides in for over a year and in the area for even longer. The awkward parking and inconvenient access to this building has always been a hurdle for past businesses who've attempted to call it home in months and years past. For a restaurant to not only survive, but thrive in this part of OKC, which is bursting at the seams with trendy new hot spots and time-tested favorites, it's going to need to really shine in the cuisine department. I was initially excited to see the new restaurant was going to be Mediterranean, and living less than a block from it made me eternally hopeful that the quality would be worthy of many future walks. This is a humble place with modest decor inside, but don't let that deter you. You didn't come for the ambiance, you came for the food! For my first visit I decided to keep it simple and order the Prince Ali Platter, which consisted of saffron rice, gyro meat and tabouleh. It seemed like a pretty logical place to start. I was delighted to see that the meat wasn't the dry peelings from a giant meat cone, but tender, juicy bite sized pieces of deliciously flavored meat atop a bountiful bed of saffron seasoned rice. The tabouleh was going to be tough to sell me on, because it's something my family has made for as long as I can remember (the boyfriend calls me the tabouleh snob.) I'm pretty set in my ways about everything from the amount of garlic in or acidity of the dressing to the parsley-to-bulgar ratio. It certainly looked different from mine, but that's to be expected anywhere... but the taste - it was great! Superbly surprised to find a suitable substitute for my own! My boyfriend ordered the same platter but substituted the tabouleh for hummus and pita. Hummus is one of those things that are easily personalized by way of process and seasoning. I was pleased that they took creative license without slaughtering the dish. It's hummus, but with a zesty, smoky edge that makes it unique yet still traditional. I haven't even gone into describing the outside (yet enclosed) hookah patio yet, but then again I didn't get to use it because of the cold weather. Put plainly, this place is awesome. I can't wait to see it grow, but for now I'll enjoy it as my little secret.

    The food here is terrific. I had a falafel. The pita actually tastes like fluffy fresh pita not like the usual dry glued together excuse for pita served around here so often. And the falafel's texture was just as it should be- crunchy on the outside and smooth on the inside with just enough red pepper in it to give it a some zing. Yum. Plus it was huge. These aren't little delicate balls of chickpeas. I ended up bringing half home. My lunch mate had the gyros (real meat, juicy and delicious on real pita). We split an order of hummus. I wish it had a little more lemon (my personal bias), but it had plenty of tahini and paprika. I liked it better than Mediterranean Deli, Zorbas or Nunu's and plan to go back to try other menu options. Don't expect a spiffy decor. It doesn't have one. But with food this good, who cares?

    This is one of my favorite new spots in Oklahoma City. The food is all authentic Mediterranean and the hookah is top notch. The owner and all of the staff are extremely friendly and provide excellent customer service. I live in Norman and would definitely make a trip to the city just to eat here.
